I recently purchased Verbatim quad-layer 100GB BD-R disks. Turns out, my several year old internal BD burner wasn't able to burn these disk even though its spec shows it supports BDXL. I figure my old BD burner was aging and doesn't support newer BD-R disks that have coating to make the disk lasts much longer.
I went on eBay look around and found this portable BD burner selling directly from Japan. As far as I know, it is only available only in Japan. It's Pioneer BDR-XD07J-UHD portable BD burner. One thing I really love about it is it's USB powered. That's right, it doesn't come with a power adapter. Just plug it into desktop or laptop USB port and it powers up. It came with USB-C adapter so you can even connect this to your smart phone.
So far, I've burned 3 100GB disks with Nero. They all went smoothly. I completely filled the disks and burned it at 4x speed, which took roughly about 1hr 50min. I'm totally happy with this drive!!
As you can you see it says "Ultra HD Blu-ray" on the box, it comes with Cyberlink Power DVD 14 that allows you to play 4K BD movie disk with this burner. Unfortunately, I don't have any 4K BD movie to try it out.

Just wonder you have any problem in installing the software? From Amazon review I learned that the software is in Japanese and somehow outdated?
